If you haven't had a chance to get a copy of Smokey Mountain Magic (Thanks Mike for sending me one), the historic introductory information is worth the price of admission. Here is a YouTube post about it. - Old Gringo
Also, if you haven't had a chance to see the PBS - Nature Special - The Wolf That Changed America - about Seton's encounter with Lobo, it's available for free at: http://www.pbs.org/wnet/nature/episodes/the-wolf-that-changed-america/video-full-episode/4414/. You can see the entire episode here or go to YouTube for shorter clips. - Old Gringo

The Vagabonds
I just came across these video clips on YouTube. They show the Vagabonds - Ford, Edison, Firestone and Burroughs on one of their campouts - these lasted from 1916-1924 (Burroughs died in 1921 and President Harding joined the event that year). This is some amazing action footage of life around the campfire, as well as an audio clip of Ford, Firestone and Edison. They were responsible for creating initial interest in the motor camping movement. Now that's camping in the old style! - Old Gringo

Welcome to Camp and Trail X
We have finally gotten to the point that we have to use a better method for getting information back and forth to members of the Field Research Team, so here we go. Camp and Trail X is a blog created for those interested in classic camping and preservation of our camping heritage. Here is the place for Research Team members to post their discoveries and contribute to the archives. The plan will be to collect info here that can't or won't be put into print - sort of an addendum to the books that can be referred to as bonus information. - Old Gringo
